Know your editor (and her shelf)

Hello! I’m Shruti.

Freelance Editor, Children’s Book Author,
Oxford Comma Believer, Stickler!

I’m based in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India, and am a bilingual (English & Hindi) with a Masters’ degree in English.

I don’t have decades of experience behind me in the editing industry (yet), but I was called meticulous by my English teacher when I was 12 and didn’t even know the meaning of the word, probably because of my keen eye for errors and details that are commonly missed in typed text!

Being a self-published author and a voracious reader, I understand how words (and which words exactly) can be moulded to fit perfectly into a story. I proofread, copyedit, line edit, and also offer honest reviews and constructive suggestions to make any kind of text blossom to its full potential.

I am a member of ACES and the Indian Copyeditors Forum (ICF), which helps me keep up with the latest in the world of editing and publishing books.

Although my primary passion is children’s fiction (tween lit or upper midle grade and YA in particular), over the last three years, I’ve worked on a variety of writing, including but not limited to:

  • Novels
  • Non-fiction
  • Autobiography
  • Poetry collections
  • Short stories
  • Legal textbooks
  • Technical reports
  • Submission packages/query letters
  • Website content

Whether you’ve just completed writing that book or an academic thesis, I can help you add the finishing touches to your document so you can display it with pride!
